Refunds, Cancellations & Changes

1How this policy works

1.1This policy applies to everything you can buy from MindfulnessUK. Each section covers a different type of product, so please read the one that applies to your booking.

1.2Why we have notice periods and admin fees. Places on our courses, retreats and training are limited. When someone cancels late, their place often can't be filled, which means someone else may have missed out. Our notice periods and admin fees reflect this.

1.3How to cancel or make a change. Email admin@mindfulnessuk.com from the email address you booked with. Notice periods are counted from the day we receive your email.

1.4Cancelling within 14 days of booking. If you cancel within 14 days of booking, we will refund you in full, as long as your course, event or pathway has not started (and, for teacher training, before your enrolment date). This does not apply if you book within 14 days of the start date, or to e-courses and past retreat recordings once you have logged in. After 14 days, the terms for your booking in the sections below apply.

1.5We recommend taking out your own insurance to cover illness or unexpected events that could stop you attending.

2Paying in instalments

2.1You can spread the cost of many of our bookings using PayPal or Clearpay at checkout. Your instalment agreement is with that provider, not with MindfulnessUK, so please check their terms for any fees or charges.

2.2Cancelling, deferring or leaving a booking with us does not cancel your instalment agreement. Any instalments you owe the provider remain due. If a refund is due under this policy, it will be paid back through the provider.

3Courses

The Compassionate Mindful Resilience (CMR) four-week programme, CMR with Cancer Support and the MBSR eight-week course.

3.1 Cancelling

3.2Moving to another date. You can ask to move to a later date, subject to space. There is a £20 admin fee. Once a booking has been moved, it can't be refunded. If the price has gone up, you pay the difference.

3.3 Attendance and certificates

If you attend fewer sessions than this, you won't qualify for your certificate. You can book catch-up sessions for the sessions you missed, at £70 per hour.

3.4Missed sessions are not refunded. Where a session is recorded, you will receive the recording.

4Process of Inquiry Masterclass

4.1The masterclass is live only and is not recorded, so you need to attend on the day.

4.2Cancelling or moving. If you have paid for the masterclass, the course terms in 3.1 and 3.2 apply. If it is included in your teacher training pathway, you can move to another date free of charge if you tell us at least 4 weeks before.

5Retreats

5.1Every online retreat booking includes the recording, so if you can't make it on the day, you still receive the retreat.

5.2Past retreat recordings are available to download as soon as you buy them. Once you have purchased and logged in to your account, no refund can be given.

6CMR Teacher Training Pathway

The Full Pathway (which includes the CMR four-week programme) and the Teacher Training Only pathway. Both are one all-inclusive fee.

6.1Your enrolment date is the date we receive your signed CMR Teachers Agreement. This is when we send your welcome email and give you access to your online pathway resources. It is also your pathway start date.

6.2 Cancelling before your enrolment date

Notice is counted back from your first live session (the first CMR four-week session for the Full Pathway, or the Teacher Training Day for Teacher Training Only).

6.4One all-inclusive fee. Your fee covers every element of the pathway, including retreats, the masterclass, supervision, e-courses and your first year of membership. These are not sold separately, so there is no refund or credit for any element you don't use.

6.5Leaving the pathway. If you decide to leave, please email us so we can update your records. Your access to pathway resources will end.

6.6Completing your pathway. The pathway takes a minimum of 12 months and must be completed within 18 months of your enrolment date. This keeps your training current.

Pausing your pathway. If something such as illness or caring responsibilities stops you training, you can ask to pause your pathway once, for up to 6 months. Email us with a short reason before your 18-month deadline. While paused, your access to resources, booking codes and supervision is switched off, your 18-month deadline is put on hold, and your CMR Annual Licence is paused. Your pathway cannot run beyond 24 months from your enrolment date. If it is not completed by then, it closes with no refund, and you would need to rejoin to continue your training.

6.7 Attendance

• CMR four-week programme (Full Pathway): attend at least 3 of the 4 sessions. If you attend fewer, you can book catch-up sessions at £70 per hour.
• Teacher Training Day: attending the whole day live is essential.
• Retreats: at least 3 of your 5 retreats must be attended live.
• Process of Inquiry Masterclass: see section 4.

6.8Deferring your Teacher Training Day. Email us at least 2 weeks before, with your reason and the alternative date you would like (within 3 months). Your first deferral is free. Any further deferral costs £50.

6.9Supervision sessions. If you need to cancel or rearrange a supervision session, email us at least 48 hours before. With less notice, or if you don't attend, the session counts as used and rebooking it costs £50. If your supervisor needs to rearrange, there is no charge.

6.10 Full Pathway guarantee

If you book the Full Pathway and, after completing the CMR four-week programme, decide teacher training isn't right for you, we will refund your full pathway fee, including the four-week programme. To claim, you must:

• have attended all 4 live CMR sessions;
• email admin@mindfulnessuk.com within 7 days of your final CMR session;
• have a short exit call with one of our tutors; and
• not yet have signed your CMR Teachers Agreement.

If you claim, your CMR four-week certificate will not be issued. The guarantee can only be claimed once per person.

6.11From 12 months after your enrolment date, the CMR Annual Licence applies (section 10).

7MBSR Teacher Training

7.1MBSR Teacher Training is paid for in parts, as you work through your portfolio. Each part you book (for example retreats, the masterclass or supervision) follows the terms for that product in this policy.

7.2Your enrolment date is the date your application is approved. This is when we send your welcome email and give you access to your online resources.

7.3Cancelling your teacher training booking. Before your enrolment date, the cancellation table in 6.2 applies. From your enrolment date, no refund is given, and any outstanding instalments remain due.

7.4Attendance. You must attend at least 8 of the 10 teaching sessions. If you attend fewer, you can book catch-up sessions at £70 per hour.

7.5Supervision sessions follow the same rules as 6.9.

8E-courses

8.1E-courses are available as soon as you buy them. Once you have purchased and logged in to your account, no refund can be given.

8.2If something isn't working, let us know and we will fix it. If we can't, we will refund you.

9Membership

9.1Membership lasts for one year from the date of payment and renews automatically each year.

9.2To stop your membership renewing, cancel in My Account (Subscriptions) before your renewal date.

9.3If you have just been renewed. You have 10 days after your automatic renewal payment is taken to ask for a refund. Email admin@mindfulnessuk.com within those 10 days and we will refund your renewal, minus a £15 admin fee. After 10 days, no refund or partial refund is given for the rest of the year.

10CMR Annual Licence

For CMR Teachers only, and for students on the CMR Teacher Training Pathway from 12 months after their enrolment date. If you are not a CMR Teacher, this section does not apply to you.

10.1As set out in the CMR Programme Teacher Agreement you signed when you enrolled, CMR Teachers pay an annual CMR Licensing Fee of £200, from 12 months after their enrolment date, to continue delivering the CMR Programme. It covers your membership and the mandatory annual CMR Teachers Update, and renews automatically each year. Without it, you may not use CMR Programme materials or deliver the CMR Programme. If you trained with us before 2026, we have written to you to confirm the move to the £200 licence from your next renewal date.

10.2To stop your licence renewing, cancel in My Account (Subscriptions) before your renewal date. Once your licence ends, you may no longer use CMR materials or deliver the CMR Programme.

10.3If you have just been renewed. You have 10 days after your automatic renewal payment is taken to ask for a refund. Email admin@mindfulnessuk.com within those 10 days and we will refund your renewal, minus a £15 admin fee. After 10 days, no refund or partial refund is given for the rest of the year.

10.4Annual Update. Attending the Annual Update each April is a condition of your licence. If you can't attend live, we will send you the recording, and you must submit the feedback form within 2 months. If you don't, we will write to you first, and then your licence will be cancelled without a refund.

11If we cancel or change something

11.1If we have to cancel a course, retreat or session, we will let you know as soon as possible, and you can choose a full refund of what you paid for it or a place on another date.

11.2Occasionally we may need to change a date, time or tutor. If the change means you can no longer attend and your course hasn't started, you can choose a refund or another date.

11.3We are not responsible for other costs, such as travel, accommodation or time off work.
